Dr Alicja Zawadzka amongst the finalists in POLITYKA’s Science Awards
The finalists of POLITYKA’s Science Awards have been announced for the sixteenth time, amongst them Dr Eng. Alicja Zawadzka from the UG’s Faculty of Oceanography and Geography. Dr Zawadzka’s research focuses on what is, in fact, lacking in Poland, namely urban development, particularly at the local level.
Since 2001 the Foundation of the Weekly Journal POLITYKA has been running the “Zostańcie z nami!” (“Stay with us!”) scholarship programme for young scientists (from 2011 under the name of the POLITYKA Science Awards). The group of young, outstanding and ambitious academics recognised by the Science Awards’ Jury now stands at 272 individuals. The awards are given in five categories: Humanities, Social Sciences, Exact Sciences, Technical Sciences and Life Sciences.
