UG to receive funding to employ three Polish scientists as part of Polish Returns programme
The Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) has announced the results of the selection procedure for applications submitted for the Polish Returns programme. From amongst 102 project applications assessed, the 22 best projects, which received at least 90 of a maximum 100 points, have been recommended for funding. The University of Gdańsk will receive funding to employ three Polish scientists who for the last three years have been employed at foreign universities or research institutions:
- Dr Agnieszka Olbert-Dabrowska (2,175,000 PLN)
- Dr hab. Tomasz Paterek (2,175,000 PLN)
- Dr Eng. Sławomir Lach (1,255,000 PLN).
The Polish Returns programme will provide the returning researchers with optimal conditions to conduct scientific research or development work in Poland at a world-class level. Resources obtained as part of the programme will ensure European-level remuneration and help to create a Project Group (research team). Polish universities and research institutions will thus acquire specialists with international experience and knowledge of the latest research trends in their own scientific field.
