Signing of the Letter of Intent between the University of Gdańsk and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants
On 30 May 2019 the Letter of Intent was signed on future cooperation between the University of Gdańsk and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). The agreement was signed on behalf of the University of Gdansk by Vice-Rector for Development and Cooperation with Business and Industry, Professor Krzysztof Bielawski, and on behalf of CIMA by Jakub Bejnarowicz, regional director, Europe, CIMA.
The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) was established in 1919 in London and is a leading professional organisation of management accounting professionals with over 232,000 members and students in 184 countries. Thanks to this cooperation, students of the University of Gdańsk will be able to take advantage of a shorter track to obtain the globally recognised CIMA Professional Qualification, and thanks to the joint venture of CIMA and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) - the Chartered Global Management Accountant designation (CGMA).
The signing of the Letter of Intent took place during the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of CIMA. On this occasion, the international debate "Constitution for Science in Poland and Reinventing Finance in a Digital World" was held, organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. The University of Gdansk was represented by the Vice-Rector for Development and Cooperation with Business and Industry, Professor Krzysztof Bielawski and Leszek Czerwonka, Associate Professor from the Faculty
