On 30 May 2019 the Letter of Intent was signed on future cooperation between the University of Gdańsk and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). The agreement was signed on behalf of the University of Gdansk by Vice-Rector for Development and Cooperation with Business and Industry, Professor Krzysztof Bielawski, and on behalf of CIMA by Jakub Bejnarowicz, regional director, Europe, CIMA.
The official signing of the cooperation agreement between the University of Gdańsk Centre for Self-Government and Local Financial Law and the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice took place on 11th May 2019 in Strand Hotel in Borgholm (Sweden) at the conclusion of the 5th International Baltic Conference of the Financial Law on “The Financial Law Towards Challenges of the XXI Century”. University of Gdansk hosted a delegation from the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia: Ambassador Mrs. H.E Siti Nugraha Mauludiah, Minister Counsellor Mr. Rudy Kurniady, Mr. Mirza Satoto from Social & Culture Division and Mrs. Monika Barzyc-Denisiewicz from Department of Economy, Trade and Investment. It was the first time Mrs. Ambassador has visited Gdansk since taking office.
On 28th of March the University of Gdańsk hosted a delegation from Science and Technology Section of Chinese Embassy in Poland- Science Counsellor Mr. JIANG Sudong and Section Secretary Mr. GUO Dongbo.
Highlights of the University Day and the inauguration of the UG’s 50th anniversary included the presentation of Polish national decorations, the Krzysztof Celestyn Mrongovius Teacher of the Year awards, the UG Rector’s Scientific Awards, nominations for the first University of Gdańsk Council and the unveiling of a plaque commemorating the late President Lech Kaczyński, professor of the University of Gdańsk. To mark the celebrations, a concert was held by the Academic Choir of the University of Gdańsk.
Another edition of the AKADEMIA Fair has come to an end. This year the fair drew over 60 exhibitors and nearly 10,000 visitors and offered the UG OPEN DAYS, workshops, lectures and, most importantly, informative meetings on the subject of admissions and school leaving exams.
