About the course
The course aims to help you acquire and develop all language skills in Polish: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. You will learn all necessary grammar and vocabulary in order to be able to communicate in Polish on elementary as well as pre-intermediate levels.
The classes aim at developing all essential language skills necessary to communicate in various contexts of everyday life, as well as acquiring certain academic skills in Polish. You will be able to speak, read, listen, and write in Polish on elementary and pre-intermediate levels. You will also be acquainted with various aspects of Polish culture.
During the course all language components are checked regularly. After two weeks of the course all students will write a small test to check their knowledge. After the whole course all students will write A1 level written test. They will receive a certificate of the Foreign Languages Department of the University of Gdańsk.
When required, it is also possible for individuals to have language test at a higher level. It is also possible that the level of the course will become higher, depending on students’ progress.
Students can check their knowledge using e-learning Polish language for foreigners A1 level course. The e-learning program is available for students at all times. They can check their development outside class at any time they wish. Students can use the language laboratory computers as well as the university computers that are commonly available.
The course is also designed to prepare you for studying at the University of Gdańsk by acquainting you with this University and with the Polish system of tertiary education.
